MANTRA CHANTING WORKSHOP

with Paula Purna

Welcome to a deepening of the Gāyatrī mantra and an introduction to mantra japa practice.

ABOUT THE WORKSHOP

Mantras bless and protect our heart, a place we often carry what’s going on in our minds.

During difficult times our mind may not be available to listen to wisdom, but we can always engage our will in prayers (mantras) and ask for help.

A profound practice the Veda provides to help us be with our minds, with our hearts, is mantra japa - the repetition of a mantra. By repeating a meaningful word, for example the name of a particular deity, we are invoking their qualities in our hearts, asking to bless us so we can overcome whatever challenge we are going through.

This workshop offers you a closer look into the Gāyatrī Mantra and its meaning. You will learn about the practice of mantra japa and how to use a mālā (necklace, garland) for chanting. You will also have the opportunity to refine your chanting, learn a short mantra for the Sun, and immerse yourself in a collective prayer circle.

Details

When: Sunday 15th March, 2—4.30pm, in the Namotoyoga studio

Price: Early bird 39 € / Regular 49 € *
